In 2023 the Covert Results investigations division was contacted by a Franklin attorney
to assist in a ongoing civil suit regarding a local businessman and for clients who were
located in another country.
The background of the story is that the four individuals and
another country we’re looking to purchase a piece of property and the local business
person began engaging in a transaction where it was later discovered that the local
businessman created an email, one specific Gmail email address where that one
specific email signed a legal binding sale document in the name of the four individuals
that were in another country. The single email that signed for all four individuals was
recently created as in within 15 minutes prior to signing the contract.
The attorney In Franklin relied on Covert Results to conduct a thorough investigation of
the potential fraudulent activity regarding this real estate sale. Covert Results, licensed
private investigators conducted the investigation and performed activities such as
visiting the business center where the IP address was captured during the signature
phase of the contract to collect intelligence on the business center, and to determine
what type of Internet this location had. Investigators also verified that the local business
did in fact exist however it was the assumption based on the id ens that investigators
uncovered that the local businessman was signing documents on behalf of people or
four people in another country in which they had no idea that they signed a document.
Over the course of the last year, there were small task that were completed towards this
case, but the most important was the consulting work from Covert Results investigators
to the Franklin attorney in which a subpoena to Google was executed specifically
request requesting the IP address subscriber information as well as the and any other
identifying information related to the Gmail account that was created to sign the
document. Once that information was revealed by Google a full analysis was completed
by investigator Young and the case continued.
Prior to the civil trial, there were a number of depositions that was taken and the
opposing council drilled investigator Young on his background regarding IP addresses
or any other information related to subpoenas and recovering evidence from an IP
