A lot of stolen hemp is sold on the black market similar to how illegal marijuana is dispersed. In Cheatham County criminals targeted a hemp farm, stealing hemp priced at $400 per pound. The loss to these farmers was about $14,000. Yet another farm in Madison County had nearly $92,000 worth of hemp stolen from that property. These thieves were in and out in about 4 minutes according to the owner. Criminals can take their time and case a property for days.
