In order to be in compliance, all School Resource Officers (SROs) must undergo eight hours of active shooter training. Each school is required to complete the training before carrying a weapon in schools. It comes after Governor Bill Lee signed a new school safety law in the wake of The Covenant School shooting. It puts SROs in public schools, pays for security upgrades, and requires SROs to get eight hours of active shooter training.

Placing armed guards in schools wasn’t initially part of this year’s plan— however when there is a community need, Covert Results’ mission has always been to address those needs and provide solutions using our expertise.
