What do you think of a security guard? It’s likely that most think of a Security Guard as an untrained and under paid individual. Vague thoughts of Paul Blart I’m sure. Someone who spends all their time sitting in a little white SUV with a green light that’s “patrolling” a property. And by “patrolling” we mean live streaming netflix. Although we firmly believe that these types of guards are necessary, this is not what Covert Results does. In the past, Covert Results has been contacted to provide unarmed security services and had to turn them down. It’s pretty difficult to ask an active or retired officer or military personnel to arrive at a security post with no weapon.

After more than 25 years of combined law enforcement experience, Robert and Steven, have added state certified armed guard instructors to their resume. These two outstanding former Metro Nashville Officers had the pleasure of being taught by the best instructors. Their one goal is to provide that same type of  training and continued education for any armed guards Covert Results employs. We know that there are several great choices around the state but we are joining their ranks.

This week Covert Results had the opportunity to teach at Tennessee Gun Country located at 1435 Fort Campbell Blvd. Clarksville, TN 37042. We arranged the two-day course to ensure these students got the proper training on being an armed security officer. Covert Results goes beyond the typical powerpoints by posing real life scenarios. These scenarios are situations the instructors have faced while on the police department and in the security industry. The instructors also spend additional time on reviewing all the pertinent laws pertaining to security officers.

Another aspect Covert Results puts in high priority is writing a report. Covert Results places a focus on report writing to ensure everything that happens on post is accurately documented. During the training we have students complete written reports on scenarios that were posed in the classroom. These reports are important for several reasons but the main reason is being able to identify  the “Who, What, Where, When, Why.” Questions like this need to be answered directly after the incident and in conjunction with interviews of other witnesses. Covert Results prepares their officers to assist police in as many ways as possible. We teach heavily on the importance of completing detailed reports, utilizing “verbal judo” to de-escalate situations and courtroom testimony as you are more likely to do one of those than pull your weapon while on duty as a security officer.

Preparedness is essential to any type of business. Supervisors need to make sure their team members are well equipped to handle all tasks that arise through the course of employment. Training is the best way to prepare employees for any duty that may need to be performed. Each profession has their own way of teaching their team. Covert Results has highly trained armed guard instructors on staff. These instructors not only teach skills required by the State of Tennessee and the NRA, but also go in depth on all possible scenarios.

Covert Results is an armed security company with years of experience. On our team is a group of highly trained guards who are well versed in training armed security officers. We now have a new dedicated office in Clarksville, located with Patton and Pittman, 101 N. Third Street, Clarksville, TN 37040. Covert Results is available to advise on how we could help your case, give pricing for the type of work you’re looking for, and even answer questions on how you could become a trained armed security officer. If you or your attorney find yourself asking about private investigations, professional armed security, or handgun training, please email, call, or visit our website.
